My grandmother wants a mobile phone. She does not have a price limit as such but wants to spend as little as possible. I have investigated the phone available and have suggested one for her. Here is an evaluation and where she could buy this phone from.
I would recommend that The Samsung SPH-A420 this is because it only has the basic features, so there is less for her to get confused with. I am assuming that she has never owned a mobile phone and is not very up-to-date and often get confused using the easiest of modern technologies. This phone is easy to use; compact and relatively light; friendly, icon-based menu; voice calling. Has no Bluetooth, camera or WAP browser, which are all items she does not require for her desired use. She would be able to send SMS messages if she wished to.
This item is unavailable in the shops as it is an old model, however can be bought direct from Samsung for £??:??.
